Tribulus
is a plant extract generally used for male impotency, erectile dysfunction and low libido. The claim is that the extract of this plant will increase the body’s natural testosterone levels thereby male sexual performance while helping to build muscles. The plant is also said to increase the sperm count in healthy males.
To date, I know of no know studies or research to substantiate any claims of this popular supplements ability to increase the testosterone levels in men. My personal experience however, is that I have noticed a great increase in sexual performance as well as an increase in semen during ejaculation. The same or similar effects have been produced in studies done on animals. This extract appears to stimulate the androgen receptors in the brain.
As for performance in weight lifting and general stamina, I can honestly say that for me this product does the trick but keep in mind that two people using the same product may realize completely different results.
There are as many as 43 different species of this plant, most of which are perennials but some are know to be grown in colder climates as annuals. This supplement has been around since the late nineties and was made popular by studies done in Bulgaria and has since been incorporated into mainstream natural medicine treatments.
In China this herb is use to treat menopause, headaches, and liver dysfunctions. There is still much controversy and contradiction surrounding this product’s effectiveness but I was unable to find anything that suggests that it is unsafe to take.
Side effects: There are no known side effects however, I have notice that when taken on an empty stomach, this supplement can cause some discomfort.
