Osteoarthritis symptoms, The degenerative Joint disease
Osteoarthritis symptoms
may not be synonymous with most of the classic joint / muscle pain and discomforts that are associated with all forms of arthritis as well as a handful of conditions such as tendonitis, soft tissues disorders and diseases that exhibit similar characteristics initially. The problem with trying to diagnose these disorders are that all too often they all tend to mimic one another too well, in too many ways. In as much as these disorders share like symptoms, they will often exhibit at least one or more distinct symptoms that will allow one to narrow the field of possible candidates.
Osteoarthritis is a non-inflammatory joint disorder and could take some time to display those classic symptoms of other forms of arthritis that are mentioned above. The primary objective of trying to identify a particular disease or disorder associated with joint / muscle pain and discomfort should be to provide one’s physician with enough information to aid in making an accurate diagnosis of a condition but certainly not for the purpose to self diagnosis or attempt to perform treatment without the assistance of a physician. Once under the care of a physician, a patient can (and should) offer suggestions of alternative medicines but allow the final decision to rest with a medical professional trained in that field.
Osteoarthritis is affected by gravity causing physical damage to the joints and surrounding tissues that will lead to pain, tenderness, swelling decreased mobility or functioning of the joints. Once gravity began to take its toll on the joints and surrounding areas, inflammation will set in and those symptoms that are commonly associated with arthritis will become more evident. Those joints most affected are; hips, knees, hands, neck, feet and back.
Early signs of Osteoarthritis symptoms may include, but not be limited to; Snapping, grinding and a grating sound of the joints that is sometimes accompanied with a burning sensation in the joint area. This is typical when the breakdown of cartilage (the tough tissue that cushions the bone of the joint, and allows them to glide over one another) is occurring. When bones begin to rub against each other, causing friction…pain, loss of mobility and the sounds described above are often concomitant.
Common causes of Osteoarthritis symptoms: Sports and other injuries, repeated injuries to the same joint, obesity, and birth defects (those individuals who were born with defective cartilage).
Osteoarthritis is seldom experienced before the age of forty but will most likely affect everyone who is likely to live beyond the age of sixty.
Prevention & treatment for Osteoarthritis sympstoms: There is no cure for this condition once referred to as “degenerative joint disease” but one can take steps to slow, reverse and treat osteoarthritis, starting with regular exercise. Another thing that will reduce the symptoms is weight loss to reduce stress on the joint and maintaining a healthy diet to include supplements known to help make the disease easier to live with. Supplements that are believed to reduce the symptoms of

In summary: Osteoarthritis symptoms will probably not be subtle at first but will gradually become apparent as the joints begin to deteriorate and become inflamed. X-rays and the aid of a physician are the only detection. Snapping, grating, grinding sounds along with tenderness, swelling, soreness and a burning sensation at or around the joint area are all good indications that you are experiencing symptoms of this disease. This disease will more than likely come with age and is more likely to affect women. Exercise, diet and weight loss is the most effective treatment.
